Hannah Alexander's Poison Ivy
Just a quick post to show some views of my Hannah Alexander Poison Ivy cosplay. It took 140 hours just to hand sew the flowers and ivy leaves (the fuchsia flowers were sewn together as separate petals then I added sequins to the center; I sewed the sequins around the borders of the ivy leaves; and I sewed the seed pearls in the centers of each cherry blossom). Fun number facts: there are over 3000 rhinestones, 50 fuchsia flowers, 70 leaves, and 185 cherry blossoms on the costume! I also sewed a decorative stitch along all of the gold trim on the bodice to give it a little more interest for the eye. I chose to pleat the chiffon so it would lay better, and created a leather belt to attach it so I could tool in the noveau design and control how it lay. Lastly, I added wefts to the wig to make it fuller and let it be pulled back instead of being the heavily-banged wig it was originally designed to be. Then I styled it. Some detail progress views:
